New sphpblog development release
Saturday, December 4, 2004, 22:32
Alex has released another unstable development build: sphpblog-0.3.7p.tgz. Unfortunately it still contains the trackback bug. See this entry on how to fix it.
I asked Alex to fix it and add my email trackback notification mentioned here as well. He already told me he will.

In the mean time he is working on categories, which will be a good feature I think. I also like the feature that you now can save your own color settings to files.

Guti mentioned me :)

Guti has mentioned me in his blog :)
As he has already installed the trackback enabled version, this link also serves as a demo....

The url above is the permalink of Guti's entry. When I press submit, auto discovery should find the following url automatically: http://guti.bitacoras.com/trackback.php?y=04&m=11&entry=entry041129-191003

Then my blog posts a message to that trackback url, including a link to this entry. So hopefully, Guti now has his first trackback (to this entry). And hopefully, that link in his trackback list is now also valid :)

Already integrated with development release!
Monday, November 29, 2004, 23:28
Wow! Alex has already integrated my trackback code with a new unstable development release: sphpblog-0.3.7o.tgz.

If you download that version and try it out, please fix the following asap:
In the file scripts/sb_entry.php fix the two occurences of $permalink = 'trackback.php?y='.......
to read index.php instead of trackback.php

Otherwise other people receive invalid links in their blogs when you trackback to them :(

Trackback enabled version of Simple PHP Blog
Sunday, November 28, 2004, 13:29
When I was looking for some simple blog tool, I immediately felll in love with Simple PHP Blog.

After a while the only thing I wanted that was not already present in sphpblog, was Trackback.
So I implemented it myself, and here is the result:

sphpblog-0.3.7m-tb1.tar.gz (362 kb)
fixed sb_entry.php.txt - remove .txt and place in scripts directory after extracting above .tar.gz

This code is to be considered APLHA: I took a not officially stable version and extended it. While this version is working great for me, you might encounter problems. SO MAKE BACKUP COPIES BEFORE TRYING THIS OUT.

If you encounter any problems, please let me know, so I can try and fix it. You can contact me through email or leave a comment here.
